The Dead Man In The Sea At Urca is the mise-en-scene of a short story by Clarice Lispector. Objects shift beneath the gaze becoming strange and unrecognisable. The scent of roses merges with a vision of the divine. The news of a stranger's death invests the fabric of a dress with the power to suffocate, to drown. This film explores the paradox of death within the domestic and the mystic power everyday objects and sights reveal when the quotidian and the realm of the fantastic combine.
